Data Retention Policy
This page describes how long PropPulser keeps different categories of data, and when older records are deleted or pruned. Retention periods may change as the platform evolves, but we keep them aligned with security, reliability, and cost controls.
1) Trade Data (Journal Entries)
- Active users: trade records are kept in the primary database for up to 18 month(s). Older trades are deleted as part of routine pruning.
- Inactive users: if you have not been seen for 90 day(s) (based on last app activity), we keep only the last 90 day(s) of trade history in the primary database. Older trades are deleted.
We use pruning to keep queries fast (especially for analytics and charts) and to control storage growth.
2) Demo / Trial Accounts
Demo or trial accounts are intended for short-term evaluation and testing.
- Auto-cleanup: demo/trial users are fully deleted if inactive for 14 day(s), or if the demo account is older than 30 day(s), whichever happens first.
- What gets removed: user profile, demo trades, demo accounts, and associated activity/log records created under that demo user.
3) Activity, Events, and Logs
We store security and diagnostic logs for limited periods to operate the service safely and reliably.
- Behavior / activity events: kept for 180 day(s).
- Audit logs: kept for 90 day(s).
- Partner API logs: kept for 30 day(s).
- Equity snapshots: kept for 180 day(s).
4) Backups and Legal Holds
Even after records are deleted from the production database, they may persist for a limited time in encrypted backups. We may also retain certain records longer when required by law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements.
5) Requests and Questions
If you have questions about retention or would like to request account deletion, please contact support.
